Abstract

This study was aimed to evaluate the antibacterial activities of 6 fruit peel extracts: santol, tamarind, lemon, lychee, pineapple, and passion fruit against 5 isolates of pathogenic methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Disk diffusion and broth microdilution assay  revealed that lemon, passion fruit, and pineapple peel extracts exerted the antibacterial activities (MIC were 15.63, 31.25, and 62.50 mg/L, respectively).  No antibacterial activities of santol, tamarind, and lychee peel extracts were observed in this study.
